Rosacea/Redness and Flushing
Although it is one of the most common skin disorders, Rosacea remains undiagnosed in millions. In fact, most people remain completely unaware of this potentially life-disruptive condition. Although it can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems, Rosacea goes largely unrecognised, and more importantly, untreated. Rosacea can cause a red-faced look and its effects are often mistaken for acne. Severe symptoms of Rosacea can result in self-confidence and self-esteem issues, with those afflicted cancelling both social and professional engagements due to sudden flare-ups.
There is no permanent cure for Rosacea but facial redness, flushing and veins can be greatly reduced through highly effective laser treatment. Our fully-qualified LasaDerm Doctor is highly experienced and skilled in delivering this type of procedure.
Performed via Intense Pulse Light (IPL) which shrinks the blood vessels in the face and reduces the flushing dreaded by Rosacea sufferers. The specialist doctors at LasaDerm will also treat any associated facial thread veins with Ndyag Laser.
Rosacea is a skin condition of the face that gives the cheeks and nose a flushed appearance. As the condition progresses, small blood vessels and tiny pimples begin to appear on, and around, the reddened area. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment can halt the progress of the condition
Usually, we aim to significantly lessen the appearance of redness with a few treatments over a 4-6 month period. The main areas of treatment concern the following issues:-
- Facial Redness
- Papules and Pustules
- Flushing
When you first attend for a consultation, our Doctor will go through with you what your main treatment goals are and recommend a particular series of treatments using one or more of the treatment protocols we use. This will primarily be guided by what bothers you most about your condition. You will have a Beau Visage 3D Skin Analysis which will highlight the extent of the rosacea and where it is and hence make the treatment more targeted and effective.
Generally IPL is best suited to treat facial redness and papules and pustules AND to treat flushing symptoms. The Ndyag Laser is used to eliminate any red facial thread veins. Most patients are troubled by a mixture of symptoms and for these patients, an alternating or combining a course of IPL/Ndyag may be the best option to try and make steady progress on more than one front.

How does the treatment work?
Treatment varies for each Rosacea type. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and/or laser have been clinically proven to successfully reduce facial redness, flushing and broken veins. It works by using light energy to target the problem capillaries in your skin. The heat generated destroys your problem blood vessels which your body then reabsorbs. The majority of patients can be successfully treated and also find that laser contributes to an improved skin appearance.
How does it feel?
The treatment doesn't hurt although you may notice a sensation similar to the snap of an elastic band or a sting with each laser flash. It won't disrupt your daily routine and you should be able to go back to work straight away with no obvious signs that you've had treatment.
What happens after treatment?
You may have a little redness immediately after treatment but this will subside quickly. You need to wear sunscreen (min SPF 30) to protect your skin during the course of your treatment.
When will I see results?
Depending on the severity of your Rosacea, you could notice an improvement a few days after your initial treatment and the majority of the patients will respond well.
However the recommended number of treatments is 4 and this is for a reason. The veins causing your Rosacea will be of different sizes and at different depths. Our lasers target these veins in layers and will remove different ones each treatment.
It is our experience that sufferers of mild to moderate Rosacea should see a marked improvement in their symptoms after 4 treatments and also find that laser contributes to an improved skin appearance.

I had treatment on my face with them - I live in MK but work in Birmingham. I had gone to a company in Birmingham who treated me so harsh that I was bruised and swollen for days and they only did 1 treatment which meant my rosacea came back quite quickly. I was recommended a treatment of 4 at LasaDerm (and they give you the 5th free) and I have to say they are good. They are more thorough - I have the laser done twice over my entire face each time and whilst the treatment isn't pleasant it's quick. They cool you down with ice packs in between which is quite nice as well. I have now been maintained for over 18 months and have just booked in for maintenance and they give you maintenance at £150 which is amazing. If you're considering having it done then I would highly recommend this place. They know what they are doing.

I am a 55 year old man have had a red nose much like Rudolf for a few years now! I like this place because it feels clinical and the doctor is really very good. Very thorough and very informative. I had my nose treated with laser and have to say that they have done an amazing job. I didn't realise it was so easy or I would have done it much sooner. I had my rosacea treated here - I'm a gardener and have red cheeks from the constant sun. The dr did a pic which shows you what's going on underneath. I have to say I wasn't surprised as I knew it was bad. I didn't go for the treatment straight away as it was August and you are not allowed in the sun but started the treatment in October to make sure there were no remnants of a tan. I had the treatment and I am so glad as it's made a huge difference. I have to be careful and put sun block on as I can bring it back on quickly and I do think it helps.
