At LasaDerm, our qualified and experienced doctors only use the safest non-permanent dermal fillers which are FDA approved and which provide patients with natural looking results lasting for up to 2 years. We have never used permanent dermal fillers as we are not convinced by their safety data.
There are several types of fillers, each with their own benefits and effects; the ones we believe are best, and which we use here at our clinic, are Resylane, Emervel Juvederm, Beletero and Radiesse
So if the skin on your face has lost its firmness and fullness or you have deep set wrinkles or a facial scar then dermal filler treatment may be the perfect solution for you
Dermal Fillers or Fillers as they are commonly known are made from Hyaluronic acid, a natural product found in our body.
Fillers are injected under the skin and are one of the most popular treatments for filling and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and can be used to increase hydration to the skin, particularly the face, neck and hands. They can smooth fine lines on the forehead and the lower face. Moderate lines occurring in the mouth to chin area and the nose to lip corners can be softened. Cheeks and chins can be remodelled and given more definition. Scars can be minimised, lips can be defined or enhanced, subtly and naturally.
Perhaps the appeal of these treatments is in their high safety profile and predictable results, but perhaps it is their immediate effect that makes dermal filler treatments so popular these days. The procedure itself is more comfortable now than ever before and carries very little or no downtime. Nearly all dermal fillers these days include a local anaesthetic making it a more comfortable experience. There is no need for allergy testing as the fillers used by LasaDerm are hyaluronic acid based, a naturally occurring component of our bodies. When injected into the skin hyaluronic acid volumises, softens and hydrates the skin. It also aids collagen and elastin organisation underneath the skin which gives the skin a more youthful texture.
To correct fine lines, wrinkles and folds in the face and hands and to reshape and enhance lips, chin and volumise the cheeks.
Patient reactions vary but due to the use of local anaesthetic in the product there is very little discomfort during these procedures.
Both Hyaluronic Acid and Calcium Hydroxylapatite occur naturally in the body so should not cause side effects. Swelling, redness and bruising around the injection site are all possible immediately after treatment but symptoms should subside after a few days.
These are all associated with permanent fillers or when procedures are carried out by inexperienced or under qualified injectors. Lesley Ash and Peter Byrne are the 2 names that usually come to mind and both of these are connected with permanent fillers; in the case of Lesley Ash, the procedure was not done by a doctor.
At LasaDerm we do not use permanent Fillers because we are not convinced of their safety.
The beauty with Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler that we use is that it can be easily dissolved if required.
Treatment times will vary depending on the volume of filler being used and the area being done. Most procedures will be completed in less than half an hour
Drs at LasaDerm use a cannula to inject dermal fillers where possible. This is a specialised way of injecting the filler and gives a smooth finish with much lower risk of bruising
On the whole results are immediate and will continue to improve in the weeks following treatment.
You can enjoy your new, natural and beautiful look immediately after treatment.
Due to the specifically designed unique formulation of some of our products, the results are longer-lasting and sustained over time in comparison to other dermal fillers.
Results normally last from 10-18 months. Duration depends on many factors, such as the type of treatment, the treated area, the individual’s skin type, skin condition, lifestyle and age.
