PlexR®, is a device that forms plasma to sublimate the wrinkled lines. It delivers its energy only on the superficial skin cells, without affecting deeper tissues. The result is immediate reduction of the wrinkles as well as the shrinking of the skin in the region around the lip.
This non surgical technique is defined as “dynamic” as it enables the practitioner to work exactly where the lines and wrinkles are. A typical session will last no more than 15 minutes and the tiny point-like crusts will fall off after 3 to 7 days. Depending on the nature and extent of the wrinkles and area treated you may need between 1 and 2 treatments and this is included in the price.
Patients may experience some swelling and soreness in the treated area following the treatment. Any residual crusts do disappear within 7 days, and should be covered with liquid foundation provided. I have been having filler for my smoker’s lines for a few years when the dr mentions this new technique. I just jumped at the chance as I needed to have my filler done every year. I have just had the Plexr lip treatment done and am so pleased. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts but if it is the 5 plus years the dr has said it will last I will be very happy. At £500 it’s a bargain.
I had my lip lines done about 2 months ago. They really did bother ne and I cannot believe the difference it has made. They applied EMLA cream to the top of my lip that stayed on for 45 minutes. The procedure itself was not uncomfortable. It felt a little warm in some areas but other than that nothing. You can actually see the difference then and there but you have to look beyond the brown treatment spots. I had some tingly stinging sensation for that evening . I kept my lips moist with Vaseline and used ice packs for the first 2 days. I also had to use some mineral foundation on my lips as there is some discoloration from the procedure. It is now 8 weeks on and I am very happy with the result. I would definitely recommend this treatment."
